Welcome back fashionistas! I personally love reading blogger interviews! It is not only a great way to learn about a blogger you follow but also to learn the different reasons people start their blog. I recently was asked some interview questions for another blog and thought I would use those and compile some other ones for this blog post. I hope you enjoy this game of 20 questions 🙂
What inspired you to start a blog?
The inspiration came mostly from other people convincing me it was a good idea. On a personal level what convinced me was I loved to share my outfits and also loved to take pictures so I figured hey lets give this a shot.
Where do you find inspiration for your posts?
I think the biggest thing about my posts are they are aren’t always inspired. I wake up one day and think hey lets do this. I go shopping and if I think something is worth blogging about I will do it and if not I will just post a simple picture on the gram. If I had to think about it though I always say my inspiration comes from trying to focus on fashion that everyone could try and be comfortable with. Most people who look at my posts think to themselves “hey I could try that” and that for me is inspiring.
What advice would you give someone starting up a blog?
Do it for the right reasons! Whether your reason is to become the #1 blogger or it is just to have a place to write, know why you are getting into it. Also don’t focus too much on how many followers or likes you get. My biggest compliment comes when even one person (you know who you are) tells me they have read my blog.
What is the most rewarding thing about blogging?
I would say the most rewarding thing would have to be having a platform to say what you feel. For me it’s not about how many people read my posts but rather just being able to write what I feel like writing about.
What is the hardest thing about blogging?
The hardest thing would have to be finding the time to blog. It is not always easy when you work and have other commitments to set aside time for blogging so I still find this to be a challenge.
Is there anything scary or frustrating about blogging?
Well to be honest the whole thing can be pretty scary. You are putting yourself out there and not really sure how people are going to respond to what you say or do. It would be a less scary experience if people would refrain from the negative comments. Not everyone is going to like what you post and you aren’t always going to like what others have to say but just try to ignore it. My biggest pet peeve with blogging, YouTube, etc. would have to be seeing the dislikes and negative comments. If you don’t like it then just don’t watch it or read it; what are you achieving by giving something a thumbs down? (Not cool!)
What is your favorite thing to wear?
My favorite thing to wear would have to be sweats.
What is your least favorite thing to wear?
Anything animal print.
What is your favorite accessory?
Hands down would have to be my Burberry handbag (my mom would be mad if I didn’t say that).
Who takes your photos?
My mom. If not her, I have a couple of friends who come through.
How much do you spend on clothes?
Umm…lets just say too much!
What camera do you use for your pictures?
Canon E5 Rebel
What is your favorite store to shop at?
Ugh just one? Hmm I would have to say Zara but there are definitely many more.
What is a basic style that you are totally for?
Well given it is winter here 75% of the time I am totally for the Uggs and leggings trend! I don’t know why so many people hate it- comfy and easy; I’m sold!
What is your favorite outfit that you have posted so far?
Hmm that’s a tough one. Anything casual on my blog is probably my most favorite but if I had to pick something specific it would have to be the featured image on this blog post.
How many pictures do you take before you get a good one?
Oh my gosh too many. Anyone who knows me knows I am super picky about angles, lighting, poses. I mean if my ankle is not exactly parallel to my knee, a retake is a must! Jokes aside, I am quite picky when it comes to pictures but it depends, sometimes I get a good picture pretty quick but enough are taken so I have tons to choose from.
Besides buying clothes, what else do you enjoy buying?
Makeup! If you follow me on Instagram you’ll see I have a problem with buying makeup and don’t know how to stop. New palette? Slightly hyped? Take my money!
Besides blogging, what do you enjoy doing?
I love to dance! In the car, at home, on Snapchat (only for a select few), wherever I might be!
Were you always into fashion?
Definitely not! I meet people now who stop and ask me where this so called fashion sense came from. My first blog post ever was all about how I grew up as a tomboy so I won’t repeat all of that but it’s true. I feel I am making up for all those lost years 😛
What is your fashion advice?
My only advice (fashion or otherwise) is to be yourself! Yes it might be a cliché but I think it’s important to wear whatever you want to and whatever you feel comfortable in. It’s great to follow blogs and get advice from others but ultimately wear what makes you happy!
